Max Holloway admitted that he would like to face Conor McGregor again upon his return to the UFC.
Following the announcement of the fight card at The White House, the Irishman has fueled rumors regarding his return to the octagon, though his opponent has not yet been defined.
Given this possible scenario, the current BMF champion—who faces Charles Oliveira in the main event of UFC 326—showed interest in overcoming his defeat from their first fight in 2013.
In an interview with Daniel Cormier, Holloway was direct about the possibility of meeting McGregor again, indicating that without a doubt, he would be ready to beat him.
“For sure, why not? If he ever gets his ass off the couch, I’ll give him a beating,” Max responded in a provocative tone.
Holloway and McGregor faced each other when they weren’t the major figures they are today.
The fight was part of the UFC Boston card, with ‘The Notorious’ winning by unanimous decision.
Currently, the reality for both fighters is quite different. The American is the organization’s reigning BMF champion, while Conor is going through a complex phase, with only one victory in his last four fights.
In the trilogy against Dustin Poirier at the main event of UFC 264, he fractured his leg, losing by injury. Following surgery and a rehabilitation process, there was talk about the possibility of him facing Michael Chandler, but it never materialized.
Despite his intention to fight on this unprecedented card, the UFC hopes to schedule his return for International Fight Week, which takes place every year in July.
