Owner of one of the most unpredictable and exciting fighting styles in the MMA world, Michael Page is dissatisfied with his relationship with the UFC.
At 38 years old and under contract with the UFC since 2024, the Englishman built much of his career in Bellator. Despite losing only once in his time in the octagon, he doesn’t seem to feel valued by Dana White.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, “Venom” was honest in admitting that he has no clarity about his future in the UFC.
According to Page, finding opponents compatible with his ambitions is becoming increasingly difficult.
“It’s hard to know what the future will be like. It has been very difficult to get opponents at this time. I feel that the uniqueness of my style is working against me a bit, because it becomes harder for people to accept that type of fighting.”
“I don’t feel certain about what the UFC wants or how they feel about me or my style. It’s hard to figure out how I’m going to move forward from that,” admitted Michael.
He also spoke about his upcoming commitment in the organization. “MVP” will face Sam Petterson on the main card of UFC London, scheduled for March 21.
For him, the fight against his fellow countryman suggests a strong indication of the scarcity of opponents.
“For example, with this fight, I don’t feel that it benefits me much, even if I beat him. Definitely, I don’t feel in a good position with the UFC at the moment,” he concluded.
Page’s time in the UFC octagon has been full of ups and downs. Even though he has only one loss in the organization, the British fighter’s bouts haven’t led him down the longed-for path to the belt.
After debuting in the welterweight division against Kevin Holland and Ian Garry, he decided to move up to middleweight, winning his next two fights. In his most recent bout, he defeated Jared Cannonier at UFC 319.
