CMLL’s Amazonas Grand Prix
Shafir is officially heading to Mexico City. The AEW star will step into CMLL’s Amazonas Grand Prix on October 23 inside the legendary Arena Mexico. She takes the spot of Shotzi Blackheart, who pulled out of the tournament after the heartbreaking loss of her brother. Blackheart recently shared how much the invite meant to her, calling it a massive honor. Taking her place, Shafir will make her CMLL debut and represent her native Moldova on one of wrestling’s biggest stages.
A Stacked International Field
The Amazonas Grand Prix brings together top women’s wrestlers from all over the map. Alongside CMLL’s homegrown roster, the bracket features talent from AEW, STARDOM, MLW, Maple Leaf Pro, and RevPro. Shafir isn’t making the trip from AEW alone, either. Megan Bayne, Queen Aminata, and Harley Cameron are also booked for the show. The lineup gets even more interesting with names like Tessa Blanchard, AZM, Momo Watanabe, La Jarochita, and MLW’s Masha Slamovich—plus Shafir’s old AEW rival, Thunder Rosa.
From the Cage to the Ring
CMLL promoters are already playing up Shafir’s legitimately tough background and intense style. That reputation is well-earned. She picked up judo at age six, went unbeaten as an amateur MMA fighter by tapping out every opponent, and later fought professionally for Invicta FC. In 2018, she transitioned to pro wrestling with WWE, backing up Shayna Baszler in NXT alongside Jessamyn Duke. Following her 2021 WWE release, Shafir tore through the indies, choking out opponents at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport and capturing the DEFY Women’s Championship.
Carrying the Death Riders Banner
Shafir joined AEW at the end of 2021, though she truly hit her stride in late 2024 when she linked up with Jon Moxley’s ruthless faction, the Death Riders. For months, she acted as the group’s muscle, guarding the briefcase holding Moxley’s AEW World Championship and wrecking his challengers. Lately, she won the first-ever women’s Blood and Guts match and spent early 2026 in a bitter feud with Toni Storm. Everyone else in the Death Riders has already worked CMLL-related shows, so it’s finally Shafir’s turn to bring her submission game down to Arena Mexico.
