Since her official debut in NXT on October 15, the Chilean wrestler has maintained an impressive winning streak, rising rapidly. As Stephanie Vaquer dreams of making her WWE debut in Chile, her story continues to captivate fans around the world. With her sights set on a future title bout against Roxanne Perez, her career promises much.
From Chile to Mexico: The Beginning of a Fighting Career
Vaquer’s road to WWE began far from the United States, in her hometown of San Fernando, Chile. At 19, she moved to Mexico to pursue her dream of becoming a wrestler. There she spent 11 years training and honing her skills. These years in Mexico marked the beginning of her current success.
In a recent interview with journalist Luis Soto Riquelme, Vaquer shared how important Mexico was to his career. “I left Chile when I was 19 to learn wrestling, and Mexico became my second home,”, he explained. “I learned everything there: the knowledge, the experience and the support of the people. I will always be Chilean, but Mexico made me the wrestler I am today.”
The WWE Journey: A Dream Come True
Stephanie’s dream of making it to WWE came true when she signed with the company in July 2024, after excelling in Mexico and Japan. Also, her time in AEW, where she faced Mercedes Moné, further cemented her place in the industry.
“Signing with WWE was a big step.” Vaquer commented. “Moving to the U.S. was a whole new experience – learning a different language, a new style of wrestling and adapting to another culture. Shawn Michaels made me feel welcome and helped me understand what I wanted out of this opportunity.”
Now, Vaquer is set for a pivotal title match in NXT, considered by many to be the best in WWE. She sees this as just the beginning of her career in the company.
The WWE Dream in Chile
Looking ahead, Vaquer expressed his desire for WWE to bring a live event to Chile. “I’ve never wrestled professionally in Chile, so it would be amazing to have my first fight there with WWE.” he shared. “It’s a dream I hope to fulfill.”
Although some rumors are circulating about a possible date in Chile, Vaquer clarified that he has no official information on the matter. “But for sure WWE will be in Chile soon. I would love to be part of that event. If not next year, maybe in the future. It’s something I’m working towards.”
Every victory and every milestone in his career brings Vaquer closer to fulfilling his dreams, both in WWE and in his home country.
