Chiapas Unites MMA Warriors for State Showdown
With the goal of unifying the community of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) practitioners, the Martial Arts Council and Full Contact of the State of Chiapas—led by Joly Ramos—joined forces with the Chiapas Mixed Martial Arts Federation to host the “Tope Estatal Selectivo” This high-impact event is the precursor to the upcoming State Championship in June. Fifty Fighters, One Ring
The event took place in the cage at the “Última Dinastía de Guerreros” MMA Academy. Over 50 athletes, across multiple categories and both male and female divisions, competed fiercely. Participants hailed from 11 academies representing Tuxtla Gutiérrez, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Comitán de Domínguez, Villaflores, and San Fernando.
Building Bonds Through Combat
Joly Ramos, technical director of the Chiapas State Martial Arts Council, praised the collaborative spirit of the event. He highlighted how the coordinated effort with Federation President Javier Ley Torres and coaches from across the state is paving the way for a stronger, more unified MMA community in Chiapas.
Eyes on June 21st and Beyond
FMMA Chiapas leader Javier Ley Torres announced that the State Championship, set for June 21 at the Indeporte gymnasium, will serve as a critical stepping stone. It will help identify elite athletes for the national championship hosted by the Mexican Federation.
From Chiapas to Chihuahua
The ultimate goal? Representing Chiapas on the national stage. The top fighters from June’s showdown will earn their place at the Mexican National Mixed Martial Arts Championship, taking place August 6–10 in Chihuahua.
