The XIV edición del Torneo Boxeo de Novatos 2026 brought massive excitement to Santo Domingo. Clubs Luis Caba and Julito López proudly took home the championship titles. Dedicated to local businessman and community leader Héctor Melo, this thrilling event gathered nearly four hundred young athletes. The Santo Domingo Province Boxing Association organized a truly spectacular showcase of rising regional talent.
Luis Caba Dominates the Female Division
In the female category, Club Luis Caba claimed the top spot with twenty two points. Club Natalio Jiménez secured a strong second place. Standout performances completely electrified the crowds. Reumily Yakeisy Rodríguez won gold in the fifty seven kilogram division, defeating Nicole Bonilla unanimously. Meanwhile, Lilian Angélica Mata Corporán from Natalio Jiménez dominated her seventy five pound match to win another shiny gold medal for her proud team.
Julito López Conquers the Male Division
The male brackets delivered fierce competition all weekend long. Club Julito López grabbed first place with forty impressive points. Club Robert Guzmán followed closely with thirty seven points, while Club Carlos David finished third. Eury Jadiel secured a flawless victory in his sixty kilogram class. Randy Manuel Pérez also earned gold in his ninety five pound division. Additionally, young stars like José Antonio Arias and Cristian de la Rosa Lorenzo thrilled roaring fans with decisive stoppage victories.

Julio Francisco Morales Recio, president of the boxing association, praised the massive turnout. He thanked the Ministry of Sports, businessman Héctor Melo, and several local boxing organizations for their incredible backing.
