A Brutal Welcome at Arena México
Darby Allin couldn’t have picked a better night for his CMLL debut than Día de Muertos. Stepping into the legendary Arena México on October 30, 2026, the AEW daredevil did what he does best: he flirted with death. Only this time,Mexican technical wizard Hechicero helped push him over the edge by literally kicking him down a flight of arena stairs.
Before the chaos even started, the broadcast gave fans an unintentional laugh. During the ring introductions, the CMLL announcer introduced the newcomer as what sounded distinctly like “Larrym Allin.” Once the bell rang, though, any comedy vanished fast.
High-Risk Chaos Between Allin and Hechicero
Tumbling down concrete steps would end most nights, but Allin barely slowed down. He fired back by snapping off a hurricanrana right from the ring apron, sending Hechicero crashing spine-first into the steel steps. Hechicero wasn’t rattled for long. When Allin went up top for his signature Coffin Drop later in the match, the lucha maestro simply plucked him out of mid-air and flowed straight into a rolling crucifix pin on the canvas.
That veteran poise paid off. Hechicero finally got his win back over the AEW star by folding him in half with a nasty headscissors driver for the three-count. The landing looked like it nearly took Allin’s head off. Somewhere out there, you just know Don Callis was screaming, “Yo soy Hechicerooooo!” at a monitor.
Dragged to the Underworld After the Bell
Losing a match at CMLL’s Day of the Dead show comes with an extra bit of humiliation. By tradition, the losers don’t just walk back to the locker room—they get dragged straight to the underworld by a pack of ghouls. If you watched the background closely during the match, you could actually see guys in skeleton suits creeping around the entranceway waiting for the finish.
As soon as the referee’s hand hit the mat for three, those skeletons swarmed the ring, scooped up a wrecked Allin, and hauled him off into the dark. What do you think of Hechicero pinning Allin in Mexico City?

How Día de Muertos Became a CMLL Tradition
CMLL has been running these Day of the Dead supercards every autumn since 2014, building the theme around the Friday night Super Viernes broadcast closest to November 2. The promotion sometimes stretches the festivities across the whole weekend, but Friday night at Arena México is always the main attraction.
That very first show on October 31, 2014, went all-in on the holiday spirit. Kids in costumes got through the doors for free, the Edecanes ring girls and roster came out in full traditional Catrina face paint, and CMLL even turned the basement of Arena México into a working haunted house before bell time. Over the past twelve years, the event has hosted heavyweights like Último Guerrero, Rush, Volador Jr., and Místico, while turning the Rey del Inframundo (“King of the Underworld”) title into one of the coolest seasonal prizes in wrestling.
