Get ready for “Fisticuffs in Farmington.” This historic event takes place this Friday at the McGee Park Convention Center. Furthermore, it marks the first professional boxing match the city has hosted since 1985! Buffalo Wild Wings proudly hosted the press conference and will also hold the official weigh-ins.

The action begins at 6:30 p.m. with eight thrilling professional bouts. The card beautifully blends seasoned veterans and hungry rookies. Castillo runs the “School of Hard Knocks” gym in Hobbs. He always dreamed of reviving the sport locally. “New Mexico has a rich boxing history,” Castillo says proudly. Additionally, this event goes beyond sports. Fighters will sign a pair of boxing gloves for a charity auction. The proceeds will benefit Grace Morrissey, a local child bravely battling cerebral palsy. Castillo hopes the community shows up strong.
