Escobar of Chile will take on Jacinta Austin in Abu Dhabi
Undefeated strawweight (115 pounds) rising star Valentina Escobar (6-0) will return to action in the cage against Jacinta Austin (7-2) in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
The 26-year-old Escobar of Santiago, Chile will fight for the second time in 2024, after easily submitting Viktoriya Tskhovrebova with a rear-naked choke in the first round (3:10) of their meeting – also in Abu Dhabi – on January 20.
The fight with Tskhovrebova was contested at a catchweight of 116 pounds.
Escobar got her start as a professional in Combate Global and performed well, winning a trio of fights in the U.S.-based Hispanic MMA promotion.
Combate Global released Escobar from her contractual obligations with the company after her third Combate Global fight, a split decision win over Aitana Alvarez of Spain in 2023.
Austin hails from Sydney, Australia and is a former amateur Muay Thai star, who turned to MMA in order to compete in combat sports at a professional level.
Austin is looking for her third consecutive victory.
