Payton Talbott‘s rise has not gone unnoticed. The new bantamweight prospect will face former champion Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 332.
The announcement was made by the organization this Tuesday morning.
Talbott made a name for himself after winning his contract on Contender Series. Since his debut, he has won five of his last six fights. The Reno native is coming off a victory over former double champion and Olympic medalist Henry Cejudo at UFC 323.
Payton stands out for his explosive exchanges and how effortlessly he complements his grappling with his striking. Now, he will look to secure his spot in the Top 10 of the bantamweight rankings.
Figueiredo finds himself in the opposite situation as his opponent. The former flyweight champion, who currently competes in the bantamweight division, is looking to put an end to his losing streak.
The Brazilian has won one of his last five fights. “Deus da Guerra” is coming off a stoppage loss against Yadong Song in the main event of UFC Macau. Another defeat could put an end to his run in the Octagon.
UFC 332 will take place this coming October 3rd at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
