Enriquez will take on Perla Lomeli of Mexico in the co-main event
Red Owl Boxing has announced six new bouts, including a bantamweight (118 pounds/54 kilograms) co-main event contest between undefeated teenage sensation “Poison” Ivy Enriquez (7-0, 2 KO’s) and Mexican battler Perla “La Princesa” Lomeli (7-8, 1 KO) for its next live television event that takes place at El Paso Coliseum in El Paso, Texas on Friday, Aug. 7.
The previously announced main event will pit undefeated, world-ranked Emanuel “El Trompo” Moreno (13-0, 3 KO’s) of Wichita Falls, Texas against slick competitor Guillermo “GMO” Gutierrez (13-3, 1 KO) of San Antonio, Texas for Moreno’s World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental Americas bantamweight championship at stake.
The 19-year-old Enriquez of El Paso is an eight-time amateur national champion and international gold medalist with a highly technical but very aggressive fighting style that is making her a growing threat in the women’s bantamweight division as well as the pride of the 9-1-5.
Lomeli, a 25-year-old resident of Mexicali, B.C., Mexico, is a dangerous adversary who embodies her country’s traditional, pressure fighting style that includes continuous, forward movement and high volumes of punches inside.
In a featured women’s super welterweight (154 pounds/70 kilograms) contest, it was announced that Ariana Carrasco (1-0, 1 KO) of Las Cruces, N.M. will take on Chanisse “The Lioness” Jenner (0-0) of Ashford, Kent, U.K.
A featured featherweight (126 pounds/57 kilograms) matchup will see undefeated rising star Emmanuel “El Chingón” Carrillo, Jr. (6-0, 3 KO’s) of Wichita Falls by way of Las Cruces collide with Kenneth “The Problem Child” Taylor (15-6-2, 6 KO’s) of Tyler, Texas.
In preliminary card action, Christina “The Hell’s Kitchen Kid” Cruz (6-1) of New York, N.Y. will battle Brandi “The Babydoll” Montoya (6-2) of Albuquerque, N.M. at super flyweight (115 pounds/52 kilograms).
Unbeaten Hector “El Toro” Morales (3-0, 1 KO) of El Paso will square off with Jerome Lloyd (0-1) of Waco, Texas via Trenton, N.J. in a middleweight (160 pounds/73 kilograms) affair.
Ayanna “La Asesina” Vasquez (7-2-1, 1 KO) of Las Cruces will face Maria “Polvorita” Salinas (27-15-6, 7 KO’s) at featherweight.
Additional matchups featuring undefeated knockout artist Devon “El Perro Negro” Garcia (4-0, 4 KO’s) of Las Cruces; unbeaten Cahir “The Gale” Gormley (3-0, 2 KO’s) of Scranton, Pa. via Derry, Ireland; and Adrian Salazar (1-0) of Tyler, Texas will be announced soon.
The show’s main card will stream live on DAZN, beginning at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT, and the preliminary bout card will stream live on Red Owl Boxing’s YouTube channel, beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. MT.
