The new ‘Owl’s Nest’ will host 21 live boxing events between 2027 and 2028; Red Owl promoting five more events this year around the country
Red Owl Boxing today announced its construction of a new Houston-based venue that will be the first promoter-owned arena in decades dedicated exclusively to the production of live televised boxing events as well as the appointment of a new company CEO, veteran combat sports and media attorney Greg Bloom.
“The Owl’s Nest”, a two-story, 25,000 square foot arena, is projected to be operational by the start of next year and will host 21 live televised professional boxing events between 2027 and the end of 2028.
The new, state-of-the-art arena will effectively replace the previous Houston-based venue that Red Owl Boxing rented to produce 17 live boxing shows between 2021 and 2025.
While awaiting the finished construction, Red Own Boxing will promote five more live events in various U.S. markets in 2026, beginning on Friday, May 29 with a show that will stream live on DAZN from Archer Music Hall in Allentown, Pa.
The new developments re-affirm Red Owl’s mission of building the next generation of professional boxing champions.
“I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to help lead Red Owl Boxing into its next chapter. Gabriel Fanous’ (Red Owl Boxing Executive Chairman) forward-thinking business model exemplifies the authentic passion that the company has for the great sport of boxing,” said Bloom.
Prior to his new position at the helm of Red Owl Boxing, Bloom, a Miami, Fla-based attorney with over 20 years of experience in combat sports, held the position of CEO at Bareknuckle Boxing (BKB).
In that role, Bloom catapulted the visibility and credibility of BKB, expanding its live event footprint to 11 new markets, including Dubai, Wales and England internationally and the states of Tennessee, Louisiana and South Carolina domestically. Bloom also secured several media deals for BKB, including those with VICE TV, TalkSport, Telemundo, BeIN Sports and Fuse TV.
“Houston is a phenomenal city for boxing, and an arena of our own allows us to deliver consistency at the highest level in terms of fan experience, fighter experience and in-house operations,” said Fanous.
“In Greg Bloom, I have a process-focused leader with ample experience in building combat sports media companies,” continued Fanous. “I don’t hire people and tell them what to do. I hire smart people so they can advise me on what to do.”
The new construction aims to fulfill the vision of Fanous, and the company’s overall goals of both establishing a clear and consistent pathway for the next generation of boxing champions and creating a best-in-class experience for fans that attend live events.
In order to achieve Red Owl Boxing’s goals, the new venue under construction will include several features that the previous venue did not, including a mezzanine level that will host luxury suites for sponsor partners and special guests, larger outdoor bays that allow for parking for multiple television trucks, a green room for content creation, enhanced staging for better fighter walkouts and a proper box office and concession stands.
The event in Allentown on May 29 will be headlined by a super featherweight (130 pounds) showdown between undefeated rising star Deonte “Lay ‘Em Down” Brown (17-0, 11 KO’s) of Morgan City, La. and dangerous knockout artist Yohan Vasquez (26-6, 21 KO’s) of The Bronx, N.Y.
