The 2024 IMMAF World Championships, hosted by the MMA Association of Uzbekistan, marks a significant moment in the sport, as Tashkent becomes the global stage for future MMA stars. Previous IMMAF champions, like MMA fighters Manon Fiorot and Amanda Ribas, have proven the championship’s status as a launching pad to professional success. Now, rising talents like López aim to follow in their footsteps.
López’s victory is a major milestone for the Mexican team, who are chasing their first-ever medal at the event. “This is the result of years of preparation and dedication,” he said after his win. “I’ll bring home a medal—and hopefully, a title belt for Mexico.”
With López now in the semifinals, he joins teammates María Blanco, Sergio Anaya, Jeovanni Rivadeneyra, and Francisco Escobar in the quest for glory. As the 2024 IMMAF World Championships continue, López and his fellow competitors hope to become part of MMA history, following in the footsteps of global stars who once competed in these same tournaments.
