Benavidez vs Zurdo
Get ready for an unforgettable Cinco de Mayo weekend in Las Vegas. Two massive Mexican showdowns are officially joining the spectacular David Benavidez vs Gilberto Ramirez boxing championship event. The action unfolds on PBC Pay-Per-View, available on Prime Video on Saturday, May 2, from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The lineup includes WBA Super Middleweight World Champion Armando “Toro” Reséndiz starring in an unmissable clash against dynamic former world champion Jaime Munguía in an explosive co-main event, and two 140-pound division contenders, Oscar Duarte and Ángel Fierro, who will battle it out for 10 rounds. This preliminary card will begin at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and will precede a unique Mexico vs. Mexico showdown between undefeated two-division world champion David “El Monstro” Benavidez and Unified WBA and WBO Cruiserweight World Champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez in the main event of the night.
Jorge Chavez vs Tito Sanchez
In a compelling super bantamweight fight, two undefeated rising contenders face off when Jorge Chávez and José “Tito” Sánchez step into the ring for a 10-round duel that will grant the winner the most important victory of his career on the path toward a world title.
The 26-year-old Chihuahua native, Chávez (15-0-1, 8 KOs), returns to action after kicking off 2026 by avenging the only blemish on his record. In January, Chávez secured a unanimous decision victory over Manuel Flores, after both fighters had fought to a majority draw last July.
Originally from Tijuana and now training out of Orange County, Chávez’s two encounters against Flores were his first 10-round fights, following two previous eight-round decision victories with near-perfect scorecards. A professional since 2021, Chávez’s January victory also earned him the California state title in the 122-pound division.
“I am very grateful to be a fighter of Mexican descent competing on the biggest stage in the world during a Cinco de Mayo weekend pay-per-view,” Chávez declared. “I thank my entire team for this opportunity to showcase my skills at such an important event. I have worked hard my entire life to earn this opportunity, and I intend to put on a great show on May 2. Viva México!”
on the other corner, Representing Cathedral City, California, Sánchez (15-0, 9 KOs) is trained by the renowned Joel Díaz as he looks to make his mark in the division. The 26-year-old fighter put an end to a 15-month layoff in January of this year when he returned to the ring and knocked out Jesús Eduardo Ramírez Rubio in the sixth round.
Previously, Sánchez had completed an impressive 2024: first, he defeated veteran Erik Ruiz by unanimous decision in April, before securing an eighth-round knockout over Edwin Palomares in October.
“On May 2, I will finally have the opportunity to fight on a big card in Las Vegas and fulfill a dream I’ve had since I was a boy,” said Sánchez. “I have trained very hard to reach this level, and I want to thank my family and my entire team for this opportunity to shine in front of the crowd in Las Vegas during this massive boxing weekend. Buy your tickets and come early to see a great show.”
Isaac Lucero vs Ismael Flores
Having secured a pair of knockout victories in 2025, the unblemished rising contender Isaac “Puro México” Lucero will look to carry that momentum into 2026 when he faces his also-undefeated Alan Sandoval, who will be making his United States debut in this 10-round super welterweight duel.
Lucero (18-0, 14 KOs) turned professional in 2019 following an amateur career where he earned five national medals representing Mexico. Originally from La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, Lucero has knocked out his last seven opponents heading into May 2, in addition to holding two 10-round unanimous decision victories.
Aiming to solidify his arrival in the United States, Lucero has set up his training camp in Las Vegas, where he trains under the tutelage of renowned trainer Bob Santos. Recently, in December, Lucero dominated veteran Roberto Valenzuela Jr. and stopped the fight at the end of the eighth round.
“I am very grateful to my team and everyone who worked to make this possible,” Lucero declared. “Fighting on Cinco de Mayo weekend is the dream of every Mexican boxer, and I accept this challenge with the utmost professionalism, as I will be facing the most important challenge of my career on this grand stage. I will show everyone why this card will be ‘Puro México’!”
The Argentine Flores (17-1-1, 12 KOs) moved to Spain to pursue his boxing dreams, and has been making his mark since 2021. The 27-year-old fighter has prevailed in seven consecutive bouts—five of them before the final bell—since losing on points to Jorge Fortea in 2023. Most recently, Flores added two knockout victories to that streak in 2025, overwhelming Johan Nova in two rounds in March before stopping Oliver Quintana Sánchez in October of last year.
“I am very excited about this fight. It’s the fight I have been wanting for a long time,” said Flores. “This fight is going to change my life. I never stopped training, so I was always more than ready to seize this opportunity. I am in great physical shape and I will pull off the upset. I am coming to the United States to stay for a long time.”
