Venezuelan fighter Jhony Becerra is preparing to compete in WOW FC, an opportunity he considers the most important of his career. After beginning his martial arts journey at just eight years old, Becerra now enters a new chapter with a clear goal: working his way toward the title.
Jhony Becerra’s journey in combat sports began when he was only eight years old. He describes himself as a “hyperactive and pretty mischievous” child, which led his mother to see taekwondo as a way to channel all that energy.
Martial arts soon became a major part of his life. Becerra competed at national and international levels and expanded his training into kickboxing, boxing, jiu-jitsu and wrestling, becoming a champion in several disciplines before eventually finding his greatest passion in MMA.
Now, that journey has brought him to WOW FC.
“WOW FC has not only been a great opportunity, for which I thank God, but it has also been the most important opportunity of my career,” Becerra told Fajador.
The Venezuelan fighter explains that he has a team responsible for evaluating the opportunities that come his way, while his constant preparation allowed him to be ready when WOW came calling.
“WOW called, and I was ready for war!”
Ready to Push the Pace From the Opening Second
Ahead of his upcoming fight, Becerra remains respectful of his opponent and says his team is putting together an intelligent and disciplined training camp.
“We never underestimate any opponent. We know that every fighter makes great sacrifices to get where they are,” he explained.
Still, his intentions inside the cage are clear: “The goal is to take the initiative from the very first second without losing focus.”
For Becerra, joining WOW also represents much more than a single fight.
“Being part of WOW FC is a great honor for me. It is a platform that is giving opportunities to great fighters and talents in the combat sports world,” he said. “I know this journey is only just beginning.”
The Title Is the Goal
Although reaching the UFC remains one of his biggest ambitions, Becerra is currently focused on what he can accomplish in WOW.
“Making it to the UFC will always be every fighter’s dream. However, I feel that I am already making one of my dreams come true by being part of WOW FC.”
His next objective is clear: establish himself within the promotion and work his way toward the championship in his division.
“I’m focused on continuing to work hard alongside this great organization. My goal is to become champion. I’m coming for that title!”
